Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- For the first time in the long history of Uzbek-Russian cooperation in the field of higher education, a scientist from Uzbekistan was awarded the most prestigious award of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Director of the Almalyk branch of NUST "MISIS", Doctor of Technical Sciences. Farkhodbek Yarkulovich Umarov was awarded the medal “for his contribution to the implementation of state policy in the field of education and scientific and technological development.”

This medal is awarded to scientists who have made a great contribution to the development of scientific, scientific-technical and innovative activities, nanotechnology, as well as the development of science and high technology centers, and intellectual property.

The award ceremony took place on 26 December at the Palace of Culture of the University of Science and Technology "MISIS", during which the main achievements of the Branch, realized thanks to the effective management of the wonderful team of the Branch, were noted.

Dr. Sc. F. Umarov was also recognized as the youngest academician of the Euro-Asian Academy of Mining Sciences in 2018.
