Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan is effectively collaborating with the International Labour Organization (ILO). It is no exaggeration to say that the election of our country to the ILO Governing Body represents further global recognition of the initiatives and efforts of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in this area.
During her official visit to Geneva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbaeva, met with the Director-General of the ILO, Gilbert Houngbo.
The meeting focused on the new stage of cooperation, the status, and the results of agreements reached in previous meetings.
Specifically, they discussed the systemic implementation of decent work principles, collaboration with the ILO within the Global Coalition for Social Justice, and future plans.
It was emphasized that Uzbekistan has implemented a program aimed at reducing poverty and improving the welfare of its population, which incorporates standards recommended by the ILO.
Additionally, the importance of legislative reforms for enhancing the decent work system was reviewed, and there was an exchange of views on the effective use of the parliamentary powers and resources in this regard.
