Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Five fatalities have been recorded in the Samarkand region due to poisoning from homemade alcohol, the General Prosecutor’s Office press service stated.
According to the information, the tragedy occurred on 11 January.
Four people died at home, and another passed away in the hospital.
Currently, specialists are conducting an investigation to determine all the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A criminal case has been initiated under paragraph "a" of part 4 of article 186 of the Criminal Code, which provides for liability for the production and sale of goods that do not meet safety requirements.
Investigative actions are ongoing.
