First verification of 5 CDM-project of Uzkimyosanoat completed
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tuev Sued (Germany), accredited by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), carried out first verification of five completed project activity at chemical plants – Navoiazot OJSC and Maxam-Chirchiq OJSC in late August.

The preliminary reports were accepted by verificators for preparation to final report and submission to Executive Board, Designated National Authority (DNA) on the CDM said.

The DNA said the preparation and approval of verification report will take three months. The review of report at the UN will also take about 2-3 months. It is expected that Certified Emission Reductions (CERs) will be issued in the first half of 2011.

The project campaign on another project realized at Ferghanaazot started in April and it will be completed by the end of 2010. The preliminary verification of project activity will be held in the first quarter of 2011. The CERs issue on first campaign is expected at the second half of 2011.

Uzkimyosanoat state joint stock company and Mitsubishi Corporation (Japan) has been implementing six CDM-projects on decreasing greenhouse gas and nitrous oxide at Navoiazot OJSC, Ferghanazato OJSC and Maxam-Chirchiq OJSC since 2007. All projects underwent validation and registered at the UNFCCC in March-April 2009.

All necessary equipment for monitoring technologic processes at nitric acid production facilities were purchased for all projects. The special supporting tools were developed, produced and assembled at ammonia oxidation reactors and catalysts for disintegration of nitrous oxide were purchased. Spare parts and consumables were also delivered.
