First Universal Cultural Center opens in Namangan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Fund Forum in cooperation with its partner Mehr Nuri, Women’s Council and Fund on Support of Social Initiatives (FSSI) launched the first Universal Cultural Center in Namangan city on 7 June 2011.

Fund Forum said that over 500 citizens of Namangan participated at the opening ceremony, which included presentation of the center, charity pilav, and concert.

The Center should became venue for entertainment of population and strengthen dialogue among generations, help for informal education, development of youth, etc.

Women, men, youth, children, elder people and other can user center. Each sector has separate room and all necessary conditions were created.

For example, women can use services of Women Center. They can take consultations of specialists, meet popular people, hold events, etc. Women can also receive information about activities of various public organizations.

The center for support of children and youth is directed at helping youth to spend their free time. It will organize various campaigns, projects, discussion, clubs and other. On weekends, the center will organize various free lessons on art, handicraft and receive information about activities of youth public organizations.

The center for social welfare and charity will provide information on campaigns of the funds on protecting socially vulnerable layers of population, supporting businesses, farmers, initiatives of women and regional NGOs.

The Universal Cultural Center will have business center with computers, and library. The central hall can accept 150 people and will be designed as chaihana, where elder people can spend their time. The hall can be transferred to banquet room to host various events.

It is expected that 30 volunteers will work at the Center, which were selected among grant receivers of Fund Forum, Mehr Nuri, Women’s Council and FSSI. Volunteers will organizer training and provide consultations.

It is planned that new cultural centers will be constructed in regional centers of Uzbekistan and remore regions of Uzbekistan.
