Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During the visit of the Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Abat Faizullaev, to the Republic of Cyprus, a meeting was held with the President of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Stavros Stavrou, Dunyo news agency reported.
The head of the Chamber noted that his visit to Uzbekistan in July of this year left him with extremely positive impressions and highly valued the potential for cooperation in mutual trade and investment. He also emphasized that he was pleased to implement the idea of establishing the "Cyprus – Uzbekistan" Business Association in collaboration with the Embassy of Uzbekistan.
During the visit, the founding meeting of the business association took place, with representatives from the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the founding companies of the association in attendance.
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan provided detailed information on the ongoing reforms in the country and opportunities for developing trade and investment relations. As a result of the meeting, the founding document of the business association was officially approved.
The main goal of the new association is to develop economic, financial, banking, trade, and tourism links between the Republic of Cyprus and Uzbekistan, as well as to promote the interests of the business communities of both countries.
