First group of Uzbek pilgrims head to Saudi Arabia
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A first group of pilgrims from Uzbekistan, which included 255 people, left for Saudi Arabia on morning of 1 March to perform Umrah pilgrimage. Uzbekistan Havo Yollari organized a charter flights from Tashkent to Jeddah.

The Committee on Religious Affairs under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan said about 4,000 people from Uzbekistan will visit Muslim sacred places.

Employees of the Committee on Religious Affairs were attracted to organize pilgrimage of the Uzbek people. The spring season of the Umrah will last till 21 April 2012.

The Uzbek pilgrims will stay in Medina at Majmuatu-l-Mavadda for four days and three nights. The hotel is 25 meters away from relics. In Medica, they will visit mosque of Prophet Muhammad, his grave and historic places.

After that, the pilgrims will travel to Mecca, where they will perform main customs of Umrah pilgrimage.

The committee said that it created groups to ensure comfortable pilgrimage for Uzbek citizens. The groups include six servants, 20 doctors and two cooks.

The committee added that all necessary conditions for pilgrims were created in hotels. The committee created medical points.
