First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance meets with ADB representatives
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Ilkhom Norkulov, First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with Cleo Kawawaki, Head of the Market Development and Public-Private Partnership Office at the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The negotiations were also attended by Mirzo Iskandar Gulomov, Head of Operations at ADB’s Permanent Representative Office in Uzbekistan, Dhaval Jamb, Lead Market Development Specialist, and Dmitry Kabrelyan, Senior Private Sector Development Specialist.
During the meeting, the parties discussed strategic areas of cooperation, including regional development, improvements in socio-economic indicators, and the promotion of projects within the framework of public-private partnerships (PPPs).
Special attention was given to regional master plans aimed at improving living standards and ensuring sustainable economic growth. Initiatives to modernize infrastructure, stimulate entrepreneurial activity, and attract private investment were also reviewed.
Additionally, the prospects for expanding cooperation in the PPP sector were explored, focusing on the implementation of new joint projects and enhancing partnership mechanisms between the public and private sectors.
Following the negotiations, both sides expressed mutual interest in further strengthening cooperation and agreed to continue working together on the outlined priorities.
