First day of Eid al-Fitr in Uzbekistan Falls on March 30
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — This year, the first day of Eid al-Fitr in Uzbekistan will be observed on Sunday, 30 March. The announcement is based on information from the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan and was formalized in a presidential decree issued by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Since the holiday falls on a Sunday, the official day off will be moved to Monday, 31 March.
The decree emphasizes that in New Uzbekistan, large-scale reforms inspired by the principle “In the Name of the People, for Their Happiness” continue to improve the well-being of citizens, strengthen peace and stability, and foster unity in the country’s multicultural society. These transformations are particularly significant in ensuring that the sacred month of Ramadan is celebrated in an atmosphere of harmony, goodwill, and festivity.
The document also highlights the Uzbek people’s deep-rooted values of humanism, mutual respect, kindness, and compassion, which shine even brighter during these blessed days. Special attention is given to supporting those in need, assisting low-income families, and reinforcing the spirit of solidarity and mutual aid within society.
