Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A fire broke out at the "Uzgarish" metro station in Tashkent due to a short circuit, the press service of the Tashkent Metro said.
The incident occurred on 27 August at around 19:28 on one of the contact rail devices.
Thanks to the prompt actions of the train driver and station staff, the fire was quickly extinguished.
It was reported that passengers were evacuated from the train, and train service on the line resumed within four minutes. Fortunately, there were no casualties as a result of the incident.
Currently, train operations are running according to the scheduled timetable.
