Filmmaker Vladimir Menshov dies

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Film director Vladimir Menshov died at the age of 82. This was announced on Monday, 5 July, in Mosfilm.

On 26 June, it became known that the director Menshov fell ill with coronavirus. At the same time, it was noted that the disease is mild, but Menshov was unable to attend the congress of the Fair Russia - For Truth party, which was a candidate for deputy this year, because of this.

Vladimir Menshov is a Soviet and Russian actor, director, screenwriter, producer, TV presenter and teacher. He is a winner of the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film for the film Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears (1981).

He is also a candidate for deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation in the elections of 2021 from the party.
