Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Filming of the new series “Olympics”, dedicated to the preparation and organization of the XXII Summer Olympic Games between the 70s and 80s, has completed in Uzbekistan. The premiere is scheduled for Kinopoisk in 2024.

Filming took place in Tashkent and its environs. In the series, viewers will see iconic streets of the city, such as the Chorsu market and the Abdulkasym Ishan madrasah, located in the People’s Friendship Park, as well as other architectural objects.

The plot tells about the main characters, Igor and Irina, who come to Uzbekistan to view the sewn uniforms for athletes and staff participating in the upcoming Games. At the weaving factory they organize a costume show for the athletes, jury, organizers and staff.

Actor Grigory Vernik compares his character with Ostap Bender: “Igor has to find paradoxical solutions to difficult situations related to preparations for the 1980 Olympics.”

Actress Maria Karpova talks about her heroine: “My heroine is correct and uncompromising, she really loves what she does and wants everything to work out with the Olympics.”
