FIFA World Cup Trophy arrives in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- FIFA World Cup Trophy arrived in Uzbekistan on 6 February 2018 as part of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour.

The international tour started in September 2017 at the “Luzhniki” stadium in Moscow (Russia). Until December 2017, the tour was held in the cities of Russia.

At the end of January, the cup began traveling to more than 50 countries around the world, after which it will return to Russia.

As part of the tour, the trophy will cover 126,000 km, visiting 91 cities on six continents. Several countries will receive FIFA World Cup Trophy for the first time, including Austria, Iceland, Mongolia and Uzbekistan.

Famous French midfielder Christian Karembeu accompanied the FIFA World Cup Trophy during the visit of the trophy to Tashkent.

During the day, the main football trophy was presented to the public in the sports complex "Uzbekistan". The trophy stayed in the capital one day.

The first vice-president of the Football Association of Uzbekistan Umid Ahmadjonov said that the inclusion of Uzbekistan in the route of the world tour is a historic event for the country.

Umid Ahmajonov expressed hope that in the future the trophy will be brought by football players of Uzbekistan, and not by the FIFA officials.
