Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2 December, a press tour was held for journalists of various media, organized by the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade for industrial enterprises in Akhangaran district of Tashkent region.

The territory of the FEZ "Angren" includes land plots located in the northern part of the A-373 highway in the cities of Akhangaran and Angren and in Akhangaran district, as well as 15.0 hectares in the city of Bekabad.

The purpose of the press tour was a comprehensive coverage of the results of the activities of the Government Commission for the Development of Export and Investment on the example of industrial enterprises in the Akhangaran district of the Tashkent region.

The government commission for the development of exports and investments coordinates the work carried out to study the investment, industrial and export potential of the Tashkent region and determine the prospects for economic development. The main activities of the commission include the development of measures for:

1) study the activities of export and industrial enterprises and provide assistance in eliminating the problems they face in their daily activities;

2) optimization of territorial investment programs,

3) the organization of industrial clusters,

4) localization of imported tokens,

5) increasing the efficiency of free economic zones and small industrial zones,

6) increase in export volumes. 

In the course of the work carried out by the members of the commission in the region, the current situation of 9319 industrial enterprises was analyzed. On the problems identified in some of them that hinder their activities, urgent measures were taken by the relevant heads of sectoral departments and associations, commercial banks, as well as local government bodies of districts and cities of the region.

For example, practical measures were taken to refund the value added tax (VAT) Limax gold textile and Dal heavy industries. Also, practical assistance was provided by "Run tong metal industrial" and "Lyux granit" on the timely receipt of raw materials required for production.

An in-depth analysis and optimization of the regional investment program was carried out: 646 investment projects with a total cost of 15.5 trillion soums, planned for implementation in 2020-2021, were studied, their economic efficiency was assessed and implementation schedules were revised in order to accelerate the development of value chains, launch projects with the highest rates of production, export and sales of products.

In the direction of deepening inter-sectoral cooperation in Tashkent region, proposals have been developed to organize 41 "industrial clusters" with a total value of 6.6 trillion soums, covering scientific, technical and innovative solutions, as well as creating a value chain.

To be included in the existing localization program, 88 new projects were developed to organize import-substituting industries.

Measures have been developed to improve the efficiency of the activities of the FEZ "Angren", which is located in the territory of the Tashkent region.

Currently, on the territory of the FEZ "Angren" due to attracting US$783.9 million of investments, including US$294.4 million - direct foreign investments on the basis of 66 enterprises, 70 projects were implemented and 8165 jobs were created.

Along with this, the total cost, the Administrative Council of the FEZ "Angren" approved the implementation of additional 47 projects worth US$727.16 million in its territory. Within the framework of these projects, the implementation has already been disbursed 179.5 million dollars (of which 97.8 million dollars are direct foreign investments). As a result of the projects, it is planned to create 11,816 new jobs.

In total, the implementation of 117 projects (based on 109 enterprises) with a total value of US$1,452.35 million has been approved on the territory of the FEZ.

If we talk about promising projects, the issue of placing 7 projects on the territory of the Angren FEZ with a total value of US$97.1 million is currently being considered (of which US$67.4 million is foreign direct investment). The projects are planned to be implemented in 2021-2022, if they are approved, then an additional 50.0 hectares of land will be used and 820 new jobs will be created.
