Ferghana region’s GRP grows by 8.4%
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The growth of gross regional product of Ferghana region of Uzbekistan made up 8.4% in the first six months of 2011.

Production of agriculture products grew by 8.4%, construction works – 52.5%, retail trade turnover – 14.1%, rendered paid services – 12.2% and consumer goods production – 10.4%.

Six enterprises with foreign investments have been launched in the region. Within the localization programme, goods for 83.1 billion soums were produced.

Share of small and private businesses in gross regional product of the region reached 46.5% in the reporting period, UzA reported.

In 2011, 675 modern houses on standard projects are under construction in 32 districts of the region.

Within the programme of employment, some 49,822 new jobs were created in Ferghana region, including 4,390 out-work jobs.
