According to the press service of the State Committee for Tourism of Uzbekistan, the khokimiyat of Ferghana region approved and presented to the tourist brand of Ferghana region on 3 November 2017.
Some media reported the approved tourism brand of Ferghana region turned out to be plagiarism.
State Tourism Committee started to investigate process of selection of the tourist logo of Ferghana region.
The Committee noted that the Khokimiyat of Ferghana region announced a contest for selection of the tourist logo of Ferghana in August.
The commission received work of various creative groups and individual designers, among which there was a work that was later recognized as a winner.
At the time of submission of creative works, the author claimed that this logo is his original work.
After discovering the fact that the author used the general design and concept of the logo, first developed with the participation of the Brandson Branding Agency, the Khokimiyat of Ferghana region decided to cancel its decision and sue the author of the stolen logo.
The State Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan proposed to announce a new competition for selection of tourist logo of Ferghana region.
