Sports 03/02/2008 Fed Cup: Uzbekistan claim World Group spot
Thailand were beaten 2-1 by Indonesia and will remain in Asia/Oceania Group I.

Suchanan Viratprasert got Thailand off to a winning start when Indonesian Vivien Silfany retired in the second set of their match.

An unsatisfying finale continued when Nudnida Luangnam retired in the second set of her second singles match against Lavinia Tananta.

Thailand pulled out of the doubles altogether to mean they finished the competition in sixth place.

South Korea were promoted to next year’s Asia/Ocenia Zone Group I after beating Kazakhstan 2-0 in Group II final.
