Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a law introducing amendments and additions to several legislative acts.

Under the amendments to the Law "On Plant Quarantine," legal entities are granted the right to carry out fumigation of quarantine-controlled products exported from Uzbekistan, provided they obtain a license.

In addition, the Law "On Licensing, Permitting, and Notification Procedures" has been updated to outline the licensing procedures for fumigation activities involving quarantine-controlled products destined for export.

The law also increases penalties for conducting activities without a license in areas such as wholesale and retail trade of mineral fertilizers and chemical plant protection products, as well as fumigation of quarantine-controlled products.

The Law "On State Duties" specifies state duty amounts for licensing these activities. For licensing wholesale and retail trade of mineral fertilizers and plant protection chemicals, the state duty is set at two times the basic estimated value (BEV), while licensing fumigation of quarantine-controlled products requires payment of three times the BEV.
