Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A tragic incident occurred this morning at approximately 09:40 on Buyuk Ipak Yuli Street in the Mirzo-Ulugbek district in Tashkent. A pedestrian was killed as a result of the road accident, according to the Information Service of the Traffic Police Department of Tashkent.

Preliminary reports indicate that the driver of a GAZ-32221 vehicle (minibus), O.S., born in 1965, hit the pedestrian D.T., born in 1993, who was crossing the road at an unauthorized location.

After the collision, the driver lost control and crashed into a BYD vehicle driven by Z.Z., born in 1990. The impact caused the BYD to collide with a Matiz car, which was driven by R.T., born in 1954.

The pedestrian, D.T., sustained life-threatening injuries and died at the scene.

The Investigative Department of the Tashkent City Police has initiated a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (violation of traffic safety or vehicle operation rules resulting in death). An investigation is currently underway.
