Fashion show “Fashion and Textiles of Uzbekistan” takes place in St. Petersburg

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --As part of the Days of Tashkent, a fashion show “Fashion and Textiles of Uzbekistan”, organized by the Uztekstilprom Association, was held in St. Petersburg.

 

On 1-2 November, the days of Tashkent, organized by the Tashkent city khokimiyat, passed in the northern capital of Russia.

The best collections from the Design Center “Sharq Liboslari” and such Uzbek brands as “IMIR”, “BUKA”, “Fratelli Casa”, “Ideal” were demonstrated in the defile, the press service of the Uztekstilprom Association reported.

As part of the event, the Uztextileprom Association also organized a national stand where domestic manufacturers of the textile and garment and knitwear industry presented their products in the mass segment (knitted T-shirts, T-shirts, shirts, sweatshirts for children of adolescents and adults), samples of school uniforms, men’s and women’s clothing as well as sportswear samples.

At the stands, the brands Ideal, Imir, Buka, Newear, BekNur presented men’s classic suits, school uniform samples, children’s outerwear, men’s and women’s clothing, hosiery, sportswear, and winter knitted clothes.

In addition, as part of the Days of Tashkent, a round table was held in St. Petersburg with the participation of St. Petersburg and Uzbek business circles on development of cooperation in the field of entrepreneurship and the consumer market, in particular, in the field of light industry and the supply of textile products.

Traditionally, Russia and Uzbekistan successfully cooperate in the field of textile industry. In 2016, Uzbekistan moved from fifth to third place among the main suppliers of cotton textiles to Russia. In the republic there are more than 10 textile enterprises with Russian investments, whicht produce yarn, ready-made garment and knitwear.

In the structure of export - 37% yarn, 14% fabrics and knitted fabrics, 48.3% sewing and knitted, hosiery and carpet products.
