Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to transition its greenhouses to more environmentally friendly fuel with the assistance of Korea Western Power, Yonhap reported.
A Korean delegation, including representatives from the engineering company KICC, visited Uzbekistan. During the visit, a project to reduce atmospheric emissions from greenhouse farms was discussed.
Local farmers will be encouraged to use biofuel made from cotton stalks instead of coal for greenhouse heating.
It is expected that this initiative will reduce atmospheric emissions by 120,000 tons over the next 10 years.
A biofuel plant is planned to be built in the city of Ferghana in Ferghana region. Relevant agreements have already been signed with the city and regional authorities.
