Talking to the-afc.com, the 42-year-old Farias said: “It will be an interesting match between two teams coached by Brazilians. I know that Scolari reached Tashkent today and I am looking forward to the two-legged quarter-final.”
“I would have actually preferred to play against the Japanese teams but it’s good that we play the away match first against the Uzbeks,” he added.
Bunyodkor team manager Bakhtiyor Babaev said the arrival of Scolari would enhance his team’s chances of winning the AFC Champions League title.
“We hope that Scolari’s experience will come in handy at the international level and it will benefit Bunyodkor.”
“The draw was equal for all the teams. We are not going to get impressed with Pohang Steelers’ previous results in this competition,” he said referring to the Korean club’s 6-0 thrashing of Australia’s Newcastle Jets in the Round of 16.
