Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 5–6 September 2024, the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Qu Dongyu will visit Uzbekistan for a working trip.
During his visit, Qu Dongyu will participate in the international forum titled “Food Security and Sustainable Development Goals for Landlocked Developing Countries,” which will be held in Tashkent.
The forum, organized in collaboration with the Government of Uzbekistan and FAO, aims to share experiences with landlocked developing countries, discuss climate change issues, formulate solutions, and develop mutually beneficial cooperation.
Over two days, the forum will cover various topics, including a meeting of agriculture ministers, opportunities for joining the World Trade Organization (WTO), investment prospects, cooperation with the private sector, food security, climate change adaptation, and innovations.
Additionally, an Investment Forum will be held to explore promising projects. The event will feature representatives from international organizations and foreign financial institutions.
Qu Dongyu is also expected to hold a series of official meetings and visit several agricultural facilities in Uzbekistan.
