Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In January-July 2024, falsifications were discovered in reports on the implementation of employment programs in Uzbekistan, concerning the creation of over 764,700 new jobs. This was reported by the spokesperson of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Uzbekistan, Khayot Shamsutdinov.
He stated that all those responsible have been held accountable.
Shamsutdinov also noted that during the specified period, 52 criminal cases were initiated concerning the embezzlement of 4.2 billion soums, intended for the payment of salaries and pensions.
Additionally, the prosecution has recovered 2.3 billion soums in unpaid salaries from 327 employees.
According to Shamsutdinov, during the oversight of the targeted use of budget funds and quality control of construction within the framework of socio-economic development programs for the regions, it was possible to prevent substandard work amounting to 29 billion soums and identify falsifications amounting to 47 billion soums.
A total of 347 individuals have been held disciplinarily accountable, and 1,520 have faced administrative sanctions. Over 1,900 officials have received warnings, and the rights of 196 individuals and legal entities have been restored.
Criminal cases have been opened for gross violations of the law, with the state suffering losses amounting to 35 billion soums.
