“One of the versions is that militants of Uzbekistan’s Islamic movement carried out the attack. We have the information that local little known terrorist organization dubbed Islamic Jihad took the responsibility for the unrest,” he said.
“The Russian side keeps a close watch on the situation in Ferghana Valley, where the borders of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan run and where, as it is known, religious extremists take active actions,” the diplomat said.
Nesterenko called for taking reports form this region “very carefully.”
