Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 8 January, the Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CEIID) under the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan organized a round table in the Open Space format on the topic: “Transformation of the banking sector of Uzbekistan 2020”.

The event hosted a discussion of financial recovery and stability of banks with the participation of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Economy and Industry, the leadership of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Halkbank, Asakabank, Hamkorbank, Promstroybank, as well as auditors, tax consultants, representatives of the business community and the media .

As part of the round table, representatives of commercial banks made presentations, discussed issues of increasing the investment attractiveness of commercial banks, and also discussed the decisions made by the government to modernize the country’s banking sector.

Bank representatives presented conceptual proposals for the systemic transformation of the banking and financial sector, suggesting mechanisms for optimizing the distribution of assets in order to increase commercial efficiency and the formation of a medium and long-term strategy

During the event, discussions of innovations in banking legislation were held, comprehensive answers were given using practical examples and development in a market economy.
