Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Jérémy Pellet, CEO of Expertise France, will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan on 17-18 March 2025.

This will be his first visit to the country, with the primary goal of officially launching the TEI Digital Connectivity in Central Asia program. The initiative focuses on enhancing satellite internet connectivity in the region while strengthening Uzbekistan-France cooperation in key sectors such as economy, transport, and energy.

During the visit, high-level meetings are planned, where Pellet will discuss future cooperation prospects with representatives of the Uzbek government and international organizations. Scheduled talks include the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Transport, the new energy market regulatory body, the Uzbekistan Fund for Reconstruction and Development (UFID), and the Culture and Art Development Fund. He will also meet with the EU delegation, the French Embassy, and European Network of Practitioners partners.

A key focus of the discussions will be digitalization, the green economy, and transport infrastructure. The central event will be the official launch of the TEI Digital Connectivity program, hosted by the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan. As part of the EU’s Global Gateway initiative, the project aims to expand internet access and develop digital infrastructure across Central Asia.

Additionally, a new EU-funded program, implemented in collaboration with GIZ, will be presented during the visit. This initiative focuses on the development of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor, improving regional connectivity.

Expertise France, an intergovernmental technical cooperation agency, became part of the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) Group in 2022. It provides French technical assistance worldwide, actively supporting Uzbekistan since 2020 in areas such as energy policy, climate change, and the green economy. The agency currently runs two technical assistance projects in the country and has deployed an international technical expert to work on key initiatives.

Following the 2 November 2023 agreement signed in Samarkand, Expertise France gained the same privileges as AFD, further enhancing its project implementation capabilities in Uzbekistan.

Jérémy Pellet’s visit to Tashkent marks a new phase in Uzbekistan-France cooperation, fostering collaboration in digital infrastructure, transport, and energy with strong European and French partnerships.
