Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan continues to actively cooperate with the Treasury of the Russian Federation in improving the system of state regulation of auditing activities. Every year new prospects are achieved, contributing to the expansion of the Uzbek-Russian partnership in the development of the audit services market.

On 26 and 27 July 2021, a meeting was held with a Russian delegation consisting of Deputy Head of the Treasury of Russia Alexander Mikhailik and Head of the Audit Supervision Department Lyudmila Muromtseva, as well as Chairman of the Board of the SRO of Auditors Association “Sodruzhestvo” Igor Kozyrev and his deputy Nadezhda Kobozeva.

Deputy Minister of Finance Dilshod Sultanov, specialists of the Department of methodology of accounting and audit, Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of Auditors of Uzbekistan Nematulla Karimov, Chairman of the National Association of Accountants and Auditors of Uzbekistan Minovar Tulakhodjaeva took part in the open meeting.

Within the framework of the meeting, a seminar on the topic “Priorities of audit development in the Republic of Uzbekistan” was held in the videoconference mode with the participation of heads of audit organizations.

Deputy Minister of Finance Dilshod Sultanov familiarized participants with actual changes and tendencies of further development of the system of legal regulation of audit in Uzbekistan, directed at introduction of modern system of auditors’ certification and transfer to public associations of auditors of the authority of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan on auditors’ examination and certification.

During the seminar Lyudmila Muromtseva told about the role of the Federal Treasury and its territorial bodies in exercising external control and supervision of the auditing organizations and auditors. In her speech Nadezhda Kobozeva dwelled on the peculiarities of external quality control of audit organizations of the SRO Auditors Association “Sodruzhestvo”.

Seminar participants considered the mechanism of external and internal control over auditors’ work quality, got acquainted with the current state of legal activities in the field of audit in Russia and Uzbekistan, and held a thematic exchange of views in a round table format.

As a result of the seminar and joint discussion of Russian practices of external quality control of the audit activities, priorities for further development of the audit, seminar participants expressed positive views on the project of changes to audit certification procedures, opening up new opportunities for the development of auditing and enhancing the prestige of the audit profession.
