Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Presidential resolution "On measures to implement the project "Providing medical equipment for territorial medical institutions" in cooperation with the Export-Import Bank of Korea" was adopted.

The Government of the Republic of Korea has approved the allocation of a preferential loan to the Republic of Uzbekistan for the implementation of the project "Equipment of medical equipment for territorial medical institutions" from the Fund for Economic Development and Cooperation of the Export-Import Bank of Korea (ERF Fund) in Korean won in total in the equivalent of US$74 million for a period of 40 years, including preferential period of 10 years.

The total cost of the Project is US$88.78 million, of which:

$74 million - borrowed funds;

$14.78 million is the contribution of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the implementation of the Project in the form of tax and customs benefits.

The Ministry of Health is the executive body responsible for the timely implementation and coordination of the Project, as well as the targeted and efficient use of borrowed funds from the ERC Fund.

Repayment of borrowed funds of the ERC Fund, including expenses related to additional fees and interest, other payments, are covered by the republican budget of Uzbekistan.

VAT payable for goods (services) purchased and imported within the framework of the Project is paid from the State budget. At the same time, the funds saved as a result of the application of tax and customs benefits, or payment at the expense of budgetary funds, are taken into account as Uzbekistan's contribution to the implementation of the Project.
