Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 23 November 2022, the first exhibition “Treasures of the oases of Uzbekistan. At the crossroads of caravan routes” dedicated to the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan will open at the Louvre Museum.
This unprecedented project has been carefully prepared by the team of the Art and Culture Development Foundation under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, together with the curators of the Louvre Museum Yannick Lintz, Rocco Rante and the scientific consultant of the project Shokir Pidayev over the past few years.
The exhibition will tell about the Great Silk Road, which passed through the southern part of present-day Uzbekistan. Its exposition covers a period of almost two millennia and is represented by 169 exhibits: 138 items from 16 museums of the Republic of Uzbekistan and 31 exhibits from the world's leading museums.
The exhibition will be of historical significance for intercultural cooperation between Uzbekistan and France, presenting the rich culture of the region to an international audience.
