Exhibition of Japanese dolls and engravings to be held in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An exhibition of Japanese dolls and engravings will be held at Gallery of Fine Art of Uzbekistan in Tashkent from 10 September to 3 October 2015.

The exhibition is organized by the Embassy of Japan in Uzbekistan, the Japan Foundation and the International Caravanserai of Culture of Ikuo Hirayama of Uzbekistan Art Academy with the assistance of the Gallery of Fine Arts of Uzbekistan.

The exhibition will feature 70 exhibits, which will be divided into 14 groups. Japanese dolls exhibition is aimed at introducing modern world dolls art, with its unparalleled tradition and deep penetration into the modern life of the Japanese people.

Since ancient times, Japanese dolls were part of everyday life. Japanese dolls are reflection of the customs and aspirations of the people, have the characteristic features of each region and for centuries have evolved, acquiring various forms.

The exhibition of engravings “100 famous looks of Edo”, which will present works of Hirosige Utagawa. The team of Edo city (old name of Tokyo) was one of his beloved.
