Exhibition of Iranian knowledge-based companies to be held in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The second exhibition of Iranian knowledge-based companies operating in the technology and engineering sectors will take place from 11 to 14 February in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, according to Iranian media reports.
The event, supported by the Organization for the Development of International Cooperation in Science and Technology, aims to facilitate the export of technical and engineering services in fields such as power generation, construction, building materials production, oil, gas, petrochemical equipment, mining, and agricultural irrigation systems.
According to the Iranian Customs Administration (IRICA), in the previous Iranian calendar year (which ended on 19 March 2024), Iranian innovative companies exported over 3.6 million tons of products worth US$2.5 billion.
Between 21 March 2023, and 19 March 2024, these companies imported approximately 1.158 million tons of goods, totaling US$5.14 billion.
Around 85% of the goods imported by Iranian innovative companies came from China, the UAE, Türkiye, Germany, and India, IRNA reports.
During the same period, Iranian innovative companies exported their products to China, Iraq, the UAE, Türkiye, and Russia, IRICA notes.
Innovative companies accounted for 2.6% of the country’s total export volume by weight and 5% by value during this period.
Approximately 80% of the export revenue of these companies came from advanced materials and chemical technology-based products.
