Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Central Bank of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting of the Central Bank management with the Executive Director of the Swiss Group of the International Monetary Fund Peter Trabinsky.

During the meeting, the guests were provided with detailed information on the ongoing reforms in the banking sector of the country, in particular, in the field of monetary policy. It was noted that in recent years, large-scale work has been done to stabilize the macroeconomic situation in the country.

The sides also discussed issues related to financial stability, inflation targeting, macroprudential supervision.

During the dialogue, the leadership of the Central Bank noted the particular importance of communication policy in carrying out reforms in the country’s monetary and financial policy.

In turn, the head of the Swiss group of the IMF stressed that the views of the parties completely coincide on all the issues discussed, and in this context noted that close cooperation of Uzbekistan with the IMF is a vivid example of economic development in the region.

Following the dialogue, the parties expressed their readiness for mutual cooperation in all spheres of the economy, including in the country’s banking sector.
