Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Events were held in Uzbekistan on the occasion of World Cleanup Day.

In particular, the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, the Republican Center for Organization of Sanitary Cleaning Works, the Association of Volunteers of Uzbekistan organized an environmental campaign in Tashkent, within the framework of which the UzPlogging eco-run and the Eurasian Cup on cleanliness – Clean games and other events were held.

More than 100 participants took part in the Clean games, and a total of 118.8 bags of garbage were collected.

Of them:

– 81.5 bags of mixed waste;

– 7.8 bags of plastic;

– 24 bags of glass;

– 5.5 bags of metal.

The total weight of the collected garbage was 802.25 kilograms. Participants were awarded special medals made from recycled plastic.

The event also included an exhibition of products made from recycled waste, a children's drawing competition and other events.

In addition, veterans and specialists who made a worthy contribution to the field of ecology were awarded “Tabiat himoyachisi” (“Defender of Nature”) badges and other valuable gifts.

It is worth noting that events on the occasion of World Cleanup Day were organized in all regions of Uzbekistan.
