Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan, a hydrogen sulfide gas leak occurred due to a violation of technological procedures during drilling operations.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of Uzbekistan, the incident happened on 1 September at 15:17 at well No. 604 of the "25 Years of Independence" field, located in the "Kulkamish" mahalla of Baysun district.

To ensure the safety of the local population, all residents living near the field were evacuated to a safe area.

The MES reported that there were no injuries or fatalities among citizens.

The Ministry assured that the situation is under full control and urged residents to remain calm, emphasizing that there is no need for panic.

Representatives of the relevant organizations have arrived at the scene, and specialists are conducting all necessary work to mitigate the consequences of the incident.
