European experience in the field of food sciences and technologies will be introduced in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 April, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation hosted the kick-off meeting of the project co-funded by the European Union "ECAMPUZ European World Talent Camp for scientists of Uzbekistan in the field of food science and technology" "ECAMPUZ European World Talent Camp for Uzbekistan Scientists in Food Science and Technology” as part of the ERASMUS-EDU-2022-CBHE program of the European Union.

At the kick-off meeting of the project, along with professors and teachers of partners from EU universities and partner organizations in the Republic of Uzbekistan, representatives of the EU in Uzbekistan, the National Erasmus + Office in Uzbekistan, the food industry and other universities of the Republic took part.

The purpose of the "Kick-off Meeting" is to promote the goals and objectives of the project, its priorities, target groups, the program planned for the next 3 years, the expected results from the application of the practice model between universities and food enterprises in the EU countries to the food industry and universities in Uzbekistan.

The partners of the ECAMPUZ project are the Center for Advanced Technologies, Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology, University of Copenhagen (Denmark), University of Extremadura (Spain), National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek, Bukhara Institute of Engineering and Technology, Andijan State University, Urgench State University named after Al-Khwarizmi .

For the first time in Uzbekistan, this project introduces the experience of leading European universities in the field of food sciences to train personnel with modern knowledge in their field and meeting the needs of the industry. Thus, the ECAMPUZ project will serve as a bridge between the education sector and the food industry in order to build capacity, develop and implement sustainable tools to address Uzbekistan's national priorities related to "Sustainable Growth and Jobs" in the food sector.

Within the framework of the project, it is planned to hold one summer school in each year of the project. Also training of 7 researchers, 6 lecturers, 10 PhD students at EU Universities: University of Copenhagen in Denmark and University of Extremadura in Spain.

Also, the project will hold open seminars and workshops to create useful networks between researchers and industry experts. It is planned to create a "Cluster of advanced topics in food science and technology" for academic interaction and the "Uzbek Society of Food Science and Technology", which will ensure post-project sustainability of the project results.
