Euro-2012: Xabi Alonso sends Spain to semifinal

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Defending champions Spain claimed a 2-0 victory over France in quarterfinals of Euro-2012 to book their places in semifinals.

Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso was the hero of the match as he scored two goals in his 100th match for Spain.

Alonso opened the score from the header after Alba’s cross, while the second came from penalty kick in the end of the match.

In the semifinal match, Spain will play against Portugal.
