EU may impose sanctions on Asia-Invest Bank
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The European Union is considering including Uzbekistan’s Asia-Invest Bank in the new 16th sanctions package. This was reported by "Current Time," citing a draft document.
According to the publication, sanctions could affect 15 Russian banks, including the Uzbekistan-owned Asia-Invest Bank.
One of the possible measures under consideration is disconnecting these financial institutions from the SWIFT system.
Asia-Invest Bank was founded in 1996 as part of an intergovernmental agreement between Uzbekistan and Russia.
