EU-funded “Strengthening family and children” completed
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
An official closing ceremony of the technical assistance project of the European Union “Strengthening family and children”, implemented within the Partnership and Institutional Development Programme, was held in Tashkent
It was implemented in cooperation with the European Commission, SOS Children Village in Uzbekistan, Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare of Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan Women’s Committee, Delegation of EU in Uzbekistan, etc.
The project was implemented in 2012-2014. The budget of the project was 249,965 euros.
Within the project, the children received various psychological services and support. Two information-consulting centers on employment were launched in Tashkent city in May 2014. The centers equipped with computers with access to Internet and has mini-library on employment, creation of own small businesses and others.
Over 160 adults received knowledge on writing resume, use of information technologies, family budget planning and others at these centers.
The Uzbek side learnt the best methods of social works of SOS Children Villages of Germany, support of employment, social partnership, cooperation with the state and civil sectors.
