Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The European Union appreciates the efforts by these countries to provide stability for Afghanistan, Elisabeth Jeggle, German Member of the European People’s Party (Christian Democrats) and European Democrats in the European Parliament, Member of the EU Delegation to the EU-Kazakhstan, EU-Kyrgyzstan and EU-Uzbekistan Parliamentary Cooperation Committees and for Relations with Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Mongolia told the news agency “24.kg”.

The Central Asian countries participate in meetings organized by Commission with regard to reconstruction and stability keeping in Afghanistan. They further participate in regional efforts organized by EU side, for example during the security forum in Paris on 17 November 2008 or last week in Den Haag.

“Moreover, the Central Asian countries have their own bilateral relationships with Afghanistan. The European Union appreciates the efforts by these countries to provide stability for the regionm,” Mr Jeggle noted.
