Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 11 June, the Ambassador of the European Union to Uzbekistan Charlotte Adrian visited Andijan region.

During the visit, she met with the first deputy khokim of the region, Sherzodbek Karimov, and local entrepreneurs at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Andijan region is recognized as one of the main engines of economic and demographic growth in Uzbekistan. In this regard, during open discussions, issues of strengthening cooperation with the European Union and further supporting the development of the region, especially increasing trade and exports, were considered.

One important aspect is the use of the Generalized Scheme of Preferences Plus (GSP+) mechanism to develop untapped trade potential.
