Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — By the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Erkinjon Turdimov has been appointed as the Acting Khokim (Governor) of Syrdarya Region. This was announced by the spokesperson for the head of state, Sherzod Asadov.

Erkinjon Turdimov, born in 1969, held the position of Khokim of Samarkand region from July 2018 until the end of November 2024. He was relieved of his duties "due to his transfer to another position."

Prior to this, Turdimov served as the Khokim of Surkhandarya region from December 2016 and was Khokim of Navoi Region from 2008 to 2016.

Turdimov’s predecessor, Akmaljon Makhmudaliyev, was dismissed from the position of Khokim of Syrdarya Region last week. This decision was made due to significant deficiencies in attracting investments and the development of agriculture in the region. Additionally, 16 other Khokims received official reprimands.
