Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2 January, the Uzbekistan Polo Federation, together with the Amirsoy mountain resort complex, held the first snow polo match in the history of our country.

The event was attended by the Secretary General of the NOC Oybek Kasymov, the chairman of the federations of polo, modern pentathlon and horse breeding and equestrian sports Bakhromjon Gaziev, as well as the heads of sports federations and associations, the media.

The birthplace of snow polo is St. Moritz (Switzerland). In 1985, the world premiere of the snow polo tournament took place on the frozen Lake St. Moritz, and has since hosted the world's largest snow polo tournament. What started on snow in St. Moritz 36 years ago has become a global trend - nowadays, snow polo is played all over the world from Aspen in the USA and Cortina in Italy to Tianjin in China.

It should be noted that the equestrian polo match on snow, organized by the Uzbekistan Polo Federation, was held at an altitude of 1820 meters above sea level.

The uncompromising game ended in favor of the Universal Jumping team, which won with a score of 5: 2. The match was refereed by an international referee Ziri Abdel Kamal. Athletes from the Republican School of Higher Sports Skill in Equestrian Sports under the National Guard of the Republic of Uzbekistan played for the Amirsoy team.
