Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The President of Uzbekistan signed a resolution "On additional measures for the effective use of the tourism and transport potential of Samarkand region, the development of the region based on the Concept "Samarkand is the tourist gate of New Uzbekistan", Dunyo news agency reported, citing data Ministry of Justice.
In accordance with the resolution, an explanatory campaign "Samarkand - the tourist gates of new Uzbekistan" will be launched.
Until 1 January 2026, business entities are exempted from paying customs duties when importing the necessary goods for a 4-star hotel and above, as well as from paying periodic customs payments for special equipment imported under the “temporary import” customs regime for the construction of facilities on the territory of the Samarkand Tourist center.
In the 1st quarter of 2023, the II International Aviation Forum "Aviation & Logistics Forum" will be held in the city of Samarkand.
Duty-free shops for foreigners will be created on the territory of the Samarkand tourist center.
Until 1 September 2023, it was instructed to create a system aimed at establishing bus (minibus) communications on intercity and international routes through information technology. At the same time, the system will provide for the procedure for purchasing tickets through the Uzbus platform and create a single platform for installing and monitoring GPS devices on buses.
Until 1 February 2023, a tourist information center will open at the airport.
In the coming year, the UN World Tourism Organization will hold the next 25th session of the General Assembly in the city of Samarkand.
