Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On the next day of the working visit of the delegation of the Uzcharmsanoat association to the PRC, a meeting was held with the leadership of the Dongguan Shoe Association. 

At the meeting, issues of implementing Uzbek-Chinese investment projects to establish a supply chain in the leather and footwear industry and attracting Chinese investment to Uzbekistan were discussed.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Association provided the Chinese side with information on a number of areas, such as reforms being implemented in the leather and footwear sector of our country, production processes, opportunities created for investors, customs and tax incentives, and logistics.

Dongguan Shoe Association noted that in 2019 they carried out analytical work to study the business environment in Uzbekistan for Chinese companies intending to start business activities in Uzbekistan. And studies then showed that our country has all the opportunities for a successful business.

This collaboration was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. But the parties at the meeting agreed to continue work this year and launch new projects.

During the negotiations, the implementation of investment projects in 2024 for the production of raw materials, finished leather and footwear products in Uzbekistan based on the capital of ten Chinese companies was discussed in detail. The Chinese Association noted its readiness to take practical measures in this direction.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to sign a memorandum of cooperation on the implementation of 10 investment projects in 2024 between the Uzcharmsanoat association and the Dongguan Shoe Association.
