Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Energy has developed a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On additional measures to introduce market mechanisms in the fuel and energy sector.” Public discussion will last until 23 September 2023, Norma reports.

From 1 October 2023, the Interdepartmental Commission on Tariffs under the Cabinet of Ministers will consider and approve:

tariffs for the production, transmission, distribution and sale of natural gas and electricity, as well as tariffs for the production of thermal energy;

the procedure for distributing funds received from electrical and thermal energy, as well as natural gas consumers and wholesale resellers;

tariffs for services for the transportation of goods and passengers and other tariffs on railway transport.

It is planned to introduce strict control over the connection of gas metering devices at CNG filling stations to the automated system for monitoring and accounting of natural gas, as well as online data transfer.

Control will also be strengthened to identify, eliminate and prevent illegal connections, theft of fuel and energy resources and other cases of illegal consumption, as well as the causes and conditions contributing to their occurrence.

According to the project, it is proposed to increase the price of gas

electricity for legal entities, and tariffs for the population remain unchanged.
