The second main export item of Uzbekistan was cotton-fiber, share of which made up 11.3% in total exports of Uzbekistan in January-December 2010 (8.6% in January-December of 2009).
Food products were on the third place with the share of 9.7% in 2010 compared to 6% in the same period of 2009, the committee said.
Share of chemical products in exports was 5.1%, ferrous and non-ferrous metals – 6.8% and machinery and equipment – 5.5%.
The main import items of Uzbekistan were machines and equipment, which accounted 44.1% of imports (56.5% in 2009) in the reporting period.
Uzbekistan imported chemical products and chemical goods (14.3% in total imports), food products (10.9%), ferrous and non-ferrous metals (8.4%) and service (4.7%), as well as energy and oil products (6%).
Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover reached US$21.844 billion in 2010 (+3%) in 2010, the Uzbekistan State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said. The trade turnover with the CIS states made up US$9.425 billion and other countries – US$12.42 billion.
The volume of exports of Uzbekistan made up US$13.045 billion and the volume of imports reached US$8.8 billion in 2010.
