Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A reception was held in Tashkent in honor of the 96th anniversary of the formation of the People’s Liberation Army of China. It was reported by Xinhua News Agency.

The event was attended by the Chinese Ambassador to Uzbekistan Yu Jun, military attache Wang Xuechuan and more than 250 guests representing various circles of the public in Uzbekistan and Chinese companies operating in the country.

Senior Colonel Wang Xuechuan briefed the guests on the role of the PLA in the struggle for national independence and the liberation of the Motherland, in building New China and protecting the country’s security. He spoke about the mission and strategic tasks of the PLA, combat training and army building. It was emphasized that China will continue to firmly implement the Global Security Initiative, adhere to the concept of common, comprehensive, common and sustainable security, take practical actions and make every effort to build a community with a common future for mankind. The level of ties between the armed forces of China and Uzbekistan was highly appreciated, the trend of continuous development and deepening of pragmatic cooperation for the benefit of the common interests of both countries was noted.

The guests congratulated the People’s Liberation Army on the occasion of the founding of the PLA. Deputy Minister of Defense of Uzbekistan Colonel K. Tursunov wished further development of relations between the armed forces of China and Uzbekistan and great success in the army building of the PLA.
