Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan today announced the start of a campaign for early presidential elections. Early presidential elections in Uzbekistan are scheduled for 9 July.

Political parties must apply for registration of their authorized representatives by 13 May and submit documents for participation in elections by 15 May.

The party must nominate its candidates from 17 May to 1 June. Candidate registration documents must be submitted to the CEC by 2 June. Registration must end on 6 June.

In accordance with the legislation of Uzbekistan, only political parties have the right to nominate a candidate for president. Now there are five parties registered in the country.
