Eight textile projects to be implemented in Qoqand in 2010-2012
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Eight projects in light industry worth 139.27 billion soums will be realized in Qoqand, Ferghana region of Uzbekistan, in 2010-2012.

As earlier reported, the Government of Uzbekistan approved a programme on development of industrial potential of Qoqand, realization of projects on modernization and localization of production for 2010-2012.

The largest project is creation of new textile complex (spinning, dyeing, weaving and sewing production) on the base of incomplete constructions.

It is planned to invest 123.2 billion soums. It is planned to use 72 billion soums in 2010-2011 and 51.2 billion soums in 2011-2012.

In 2010-2011, the complex will produce 10,000 tonnes of dyed yarn and in 2011-2012, it will launch lines on production of 22.5 million square meters of ready cotton fabric and 9 million unites of ready-made garments.

About 3 billion soums will be invested to the project “Modernization of spinning production” and “Modernization of hosiery products” each. In the result, by 2011, additional capacities for production of over 2,000 tonnes of yarn and 7.2 million pairs of hosiery products will be commissioned.

It is planned to launch production of 1,200 tonnes of stockinet and line on dyeing and decoration of 2,000 tonnes of stockinet on the base of bankrupt Ulugbek open joint-stock company. About 70.5 million soums and 300 million soums will be invested into these projects respectively.

Capacities on production of whitened and hygroscopic cotton with packaging line at XXX Fayoz LLC will be launched in the fourth quarter of 2010. The capacity will produce 1,200 tonnes of cotton. The cost of the project is 4.05 billion soums.

It is planned to organize spinning and weaving production and line on production of blankets with the cost of 3.4 billion soums and 2.25 billion soums respectively. The launch of line will help to produce 2.5 million meters of ready cotton fabrics and 100,000 units of cotton blankets.
